Gianella Ghiglino

ย

Peruvian-born and LA-raised, Gianella Ghiglino began writing poetry at five years old while simultaneously learning to speak English. Her work as a journalist includes covering the ongoing refugee crisis, the border wall construction, and how the pandemic has affected border cities. She has also worked in Texas, reporting on abortion rights and climate change. She believes in the power of storytelling, whether in the newsroom, or at home, where she writes her most intimate thoughts into poems.
