Celebrate Mary Shelley’s 225th birthday with us as we commemorate the launch of Addie Tsai’s newest book, Unwieldy Creatures, a biracial, queer, gender-swapped retelling of Shelley’s classic novel Frankenstein.

BookWoman Book Store, in collaboration with the Black Writers Read podcast and Levee Break Lit and hosted by Nicole Young-Martin, is super excited to present an evening with horror/thriller novelist Addie Tsai.

𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘁, 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹: In this latest post, Harrison Morris illustrates the value of sincerity and strong identity in art-making amid grief and societal superficiality.

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 Harrison: He had a long early career in entertainment marketing. At 40, he segued into interior design. In what he describes as an “existentially life-altering” workshop at FAWC Provincetown, he worked with the poet Marie Howe, who urged him to have a literary career; he began writing short fiction and memoir while working in design. Now, in his sixth decade he is finishing his first novel. He holds a BA in Art History from SUNY New Paltz, and is pursuing an ALM in Literature and Creative Writing at Harvard Extension School.
