A. Rafael Johnson is a Kimbilio Fellow. He earned his BA in Drama from the University of Texas, and his MFA in Fiction from the University of Alabama. Andy has spent time working in post-conflict reconstruction efforts in Liberia, and directed the UA in Zanzibar Study Abroad Program. His work has been seen in African American Review, Kweli, and is forthcoming in Callaloo. Andy taught creative writing and literature at The University of Alabama, but is currently transitioning into a consultancy with TerraLuna Collaborative, based in Minneapolis.
